Fundamentals is an embedded Business Central App, meaning that the changes to enable accounting for nonprofits and governments are made throughout the base application. As such, you will start with a fully integrated database from Tangicloud versus adding objects into a base BC database.

Fundamentals is focused on financial functions using the Business Central Essentials edition.

The steps to setting up, therefore are inter-woven with the normal Business Central steps, with extensions and additions for activating features for governments and nonprofits.

  1. Install Business Central

  2. Purchase Business Central Licenses from Microsoft from your Partner

  3. Assign Microsoft Licenses to Your Users

  4. Install the Fundamentals App from AppSource

  5. Create One or More Companies

  6. Run Fundamentals Utilities

  7. Create a Sandbox environment

  8. General Ledger Setup

  9. Fund Accounting Setup

  10. Chart of Accounts, Funds and Dimensions

  11. Purchases & Payables Setup

  12. Other Setups

  13. Import/create Master Data

  14. Import Historical Transactions

  15. User Acceptance Testing 

  16. Training
